(this sucks, I write my bitterness out better in Filipino. I find English kinda prissy. :D )

We were cut off from support. We need all the help we can get.

We need all the help we can get. So do the children in Africa. So do the Palestinians oppressed by the Israeli. So does everyone in a third world country. So does everyone in a war-torn nation. We take a number and we take a seat. We get in line.

"...how can you expect prissy little colegialas and their private-school-educated boyfriends to put aside their cell phones and iPods and Facebook profiles long enough to care?"

So, what're you doing about it?

Memorable passage. It demeans every single student who studies to get top grades in order to have a better shot at succeeding in their lives. You can help people through directly volunteering. Or you can make a bigger difference by getting the best education you can find and actually making it to the top in life, and once you've actually got some resources behind you get to work.

The Abu Sayyaf fight for total independence.

I find your lack of faith in armed struggle disturbing. Take it from the enemy's point of view for once. If it was the Christians or the Philippines as a country fighting for independence, what's your take?

I will never say that their actions are justifiable. Just remember that we glorify our heroes, we glorify Rizal, Aguinaldo, we glorify every single overused name cited by politically unaware high school students crying out for peace, we give them honor for fighting for independence (which we still haven't really gotten). Ever consider how controlled the media probably is? We're in a country rife with political killings and bribery. For all we know the Philippine government itself could be oppressing the people in Southern Mindanao.

-----

Okay, stage two.

We don't believe in the government. We NEED armed struggle. Unfortunately, we've had the misfortune to be born after the peaceful attempts have been made. There's a time for the pen, and that, apparently, has passed. It's time for the bullet.
